License Verification Required
All lead buyers operating as lenders or loan brokers must provide proof of valid state licensing before receiving leads. SafeStream verifies licenses upon onboarding and monitors for renewals.
Why Licensing Matters
State licensing ensures that consumer lenders operate legally and ethically. SafeStream only distributes leads to properly licensed entities to:
- Protect consumers from unlicensed or predatory lenders
- Ensure compliance with state lending laws and rate caps
- Maintain the integrity of our lead marketplace
- Minimize legal and reputational risk for all partners
License Types We Verify
Consumer Lender License
Required for entities making direct consumer loans. Often called "Consumer Finance License" or "Small Loan License" depending on the state.
Loan Broker License
Required for entities that connect consumers with lenders but do not fund loans directly. Also called "Loan Arranger" in some states.
Mortgage License (NMLS)
Required for mortgage lenders and brokers. Verified through the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
Installment Loan License
Specific license for installment loan products in certain states with separate regulatory frameworks.
